The international train of urban innovation has started moving and made a stop in Tampere, Finland this week! During Imagine the Citiverse we not only had a big event, with the international launch of the Open Urban Platform (OUP) - for which our clearly.Hub offers the solution - but we also came together for project meetings of Xcite and Dt-aCoGo and participated in the City Challenges of Tampere and Phoenix.

One of the absolute highlights was the launch of the OUP. Led by Bas Boorsma (Urban Innovators Global) the attendees were introduced to the concept of the open urban platform and why it is important to have a platform to connect data, apps and users. Roland van der Heijden (Program manager Rotterdam Citiverse & Program manager Digital City at the Municipality of Rotterdam) and our own General Director, Mirella Hilgenkamp, shared their views on the reason and the added value of the OUP for a broad audience.

To show how this Open Urban Platform is concretely laying the tracks in Rotterdam practice, we received an impressive presentation from Corné Helmons (Advisor Digital Twin, GeoBIM and Standardization, CIO Office Gemeente Rotterdam) and Maurice de Beer (Innovation Alchemist of Public Safety, Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam-Rijnmond). They demonstrated a concrete use case of an integrated approach to the safety chain. Finally, Jaan Saar of Future Insight launched our international connection program with our partner in Finland: Sitowise.

Besides the successful launch of the OUP and the Clearly.Hub, we actively deployed the Clearly.Hub at the City Challenges of Phoenix, and important project meetings took place for Xcite and Dt-aCoGo, with contributions from Amir, Simay, Jelmer and Rick. This underscores our international impact and commitment to urban innovation worldwide.

In short: we look back on an extraordinarily successful and impactful week in Tampere!
