Future Insight aligns with new European innovation project: OIVA

Ruggedised, Espresso, ACCORD, DT-ACogo and now OIVA – Future Insight can add another renowned international development project to the list.

What is OIVA?

OIVA (Open Innovation for Verified Automation) is a European project aimed at developing and demonstrating digital solutions for automated regulatory compliance using data. The project follows a modular structure of seven interdependent work packages. It focuses on three practical sectors in which the compliance solutions are implemented and tested: vehicle recycling, the built environment, and financial reporting.

How Future Insight contributes

Future Insight contributes to the built environment sector in Work Package 5, led by TNO. Within this work package, we collaborate with Struck , Bosselaar Strengers Legal Partners , the Municipality of Eindhoven , Plegt-Vos , the University of Twente , and NL Greenlabel . This work package focuses on streamlining digital permitting procedures using BIM models and computer-driven rules to eliminate bottlenecks that delay construction and renovation projects. Examples include translating building regulations into machine-readable verification logic, building automated review engines based on BIM models, and validating these in real permitting procedures. A specific component is the conversion of IFC models to CityGML3: connecting BIM and GIS data as the foundation for automated spatial review.

Today marked the kick-off of this project in Helsinki, where we are gathering to coordinate the project's execution and combine our collective insights and expertise for a successful and impactful start.
